Anyone who has visited Manhattan can tell you how electrifying the city is. The energy, the fashion and the diverse types of people that are drawn to the bright city lights. Which brings me to the subject of this blog. Night-life chic, think Studio 54 with an edgy twist, and my friend actress Sara Paxton was the perfect model to create a night-life chic make up on. What better line to implement Night-life chic, non other than Yves Saint Laurent Fall color collection.
Get the look:
Face 1. First prepare the skin by applying a luminizer to the top of the cheek bone, down the center of the nose and along the jaw line. 2. Blend a touch of concealer under the eyes and area's that need a bit more coverage. 3. Blend a liquid foundation with a foundation brush and blend on to the face and neck, blend in well. 4. add a touch of cream blush to the higher apples of the cheeks 5. Set with a pressed powder.
Eyes 1. Curl lashes with a eye lash curler, and brush brows with brow gel. 2. Then, Dust a white shimmer eyeshadow across the entire eyelid. even over the brow. 3. First line the entire eye with a black eye liner. 4. using a thin eye shadow brush. start creating your graphic line in the crease.
NOTE: If you have smaller eye lids. Keep the line above your natural eye-lid crease. To start, I always use a light grey or light brown to draw out my shape. Then go over it with black. You can use a eye liner, wet powder eye-shadow or cream eye liner.
5.use a black liquid liner to draw out the wings on the edges of your eyes. 6. apply a few coats of black mascara
It's no surprise that I love products. When I get a fresh new box of the new seasonal colors and products, I go nuts! I cant wait to rip open the box and see what I got. It's like finding a buried treasure for me. Sometimes I just keep it out till I figure out how I'll use it and on whom. I've created a lot of different looks with this palette that has 6 amazing shades. Of course with a dramatic smokey eye, I like to pair that with a beautiful shimmery beige lip. I love to add a touch of highlighter to the inner part of the eyes near the tear duct. Clinique's "Quick Eyes Cream Shadow Rock Violet" is awesome on green-eyed girls. Just dab a touch onto the eyes alone or to highlight dramatic eyes. I've used this on actress Sara Paxton.
