Pretty Make-up with an edge on Rachel McAdams

While in New York this week, I got the chance to work with one of my favorite clients, the beautiful and talented Rachel McAdams. I did her make-up for a Jimmy Fallon show appearance and the look I was going for was a smokey eye and a bright sheer hot pink lip. I wanted it to be pretty with an edge and not necessarily retro but her modern face gave a nice twist to her retro style dress and stylish up-do done by celebrity hair-dresser Renato Campora.

I started by prepping Rachel's skin with the Renutriv Skin Care line by Estee Lauder which gave a nice glow to her skin. I then touched up around the eyes with the concealer in a fair shade, set with a loose translucent powder, and dusted a beautiful petal pink powder blush on the upper apples of the cheek. For the eyes, I blended Benefit's creme eye-shadow over Rachel's entire eyelids and below her lash-line. I defined the inside with a black eye pencil and curled and coated her lashes with black mascara. I usually pick one feature to make a statement - the eyes or the lips, but this hot combo of the bronzy brown and hot pink lip was too irresistible to ignore. The lip was just a sheer bright pink. I applied a couple coats and topped off with a sheer gloss for an extra shine. The finished look as you can see was pretty hot.
