Cherry Red – Freshly picked for Spring

Everywhere you'll look this Spring, the it-color is cherry red. It's sexy and chic and it works on any skin tone, any race, any age with of course a few simple tips. Bright red lips were all the rage in Spring collections as well as some of our favorite celebrities on the red carpet. What makes this vivid shade so hot? Apply a transparent cherry lipstick, lipbalm, or lip gloss and you've got all the color you need - day or night.

A vibrant fruity red shade in a sheer lipstick or gloss is perfect for a Spring wedding. You get a hint of color while your natural lip will still show through. A sheer cherry red lip looks amazing with little or no make-up or paired with a dark eye for a stronger evening look. For a soft sheer wash of color, pat on a bright cherry red lipstick onto your lips with your finger tips, blot, and top off with a lip conditioner or sheer gloss. For mega cherry lips that wow, first define lips with a bright red lip-liner, fill in the entire lips with a matching cherry red lipstick, and top off with a sheer, shimmery red lip gloss. Red is an influential color that will be seen on the runway, in fashion magazines, and on the red carpet.

Screen-siren Marilyn Monroe was recently incarnated by Dolce Gabbana's new make-up campaign featuring Scarlett Johannson who is the new face of the line. "The lipsticks will be scented with rose", Gabbana explained. “We wanted to create makeup with a scent. Domenico and I remember when we were children and opened our mother’s handbags — the scent of her lipstick trailed out. I observed that when women open makeup, they smell it first.” Make-up maestro Dick Page branded it well when he named his new red for Shiseido's Perfect Rouge lipstick line - "Take No Prisoners Red". Cherry red lip color can bring out the whiteness in teeth, can instantly turn a day look into a night look, and has been scientifically proven to turn on the opposite sex. It is the universal color for love. With that said, why hold back? Go red.

2 Slices Lemon
3-5 fresh blackberries
1 oz grenadine
2 oz Vodka

Mix the first 3 ingredients, add the vodka, and shake with ice. Serve on the rocks with a splash of soda water.
