Holiday sweet Candis Cayne

Well, not to be a downer, but 2008 is ending bittersweet due to a break-up with my other half, to whom I wish all the best. These past few weeks I've been one sad dude. So a few of my friends took me out to L.A. hot spot The Abbey in West Hollywood for a cabaret show featuring the beautiful Candis Cayne. Last night I laughed and danced along with everyone as we watched Candis perform different musical numbers. She lip-syncs to everything from Britney, Beyonce, & Madonna with a classic old Hollywood flair. She whips her thick, beautiful, blond hair around and struts up and down the isles. She is my dream girl. It was exactly what I needed on a sad Monday night. Thanks Candis. So if you're needing a little cheering up this holiday, or if you just want to see a very sexy, clever, and hysterical show, check out Candis on Monday nights at The Abbey in Weho or on Dirty Sexy Money (Season 1) which was just released on DVD.

Far out, i love hollywood hair!! We just don’t do it like that down under! ..hhmm.. maybe it’s the heat.. it was about 105degF today.. I’m still struggling with “to fringe or not fringe” (you guys call them “bangs”) after seeing KK.. last year on new year’s day i went to the bathroom and cut it myself after watching Monica Bellucci in “Shoot em up”.. but for some reason i didn’t look like her after i did it! (:
As for all the shitty things from 2008, do what i did.. go to the back yard, dig a big hole and bury it ALL!! Well, i sort of did it metaphorically, not literally, but, i’m all ready for 2009 and the mint things that are going to happen..
As for aging gracefully.. surely the odd poke, jab or tuck doesn’t really hurt? (:
Hugs for you! Sorry to hear about your break-up Troy. There is nothing i can say to make it better, but i can empathize because I have been there. It saddens you to the core, but here is an age old cliché that is very true, ‘when one door closes another opens’.
Maybe you can take solace in the fact that you have great friends who know you well enough to treasure your feelings and help you get out of that awful head-space. The fact that they knew just the thing to make you feel abit better must make you feel loved inside.
I am glad you enjoyed the company and the visuals… Here is wishing you more love (in all it forms), happiness and greater success in 2009. (you know it is on it’s way)
chin up!
all the best,
SD xxx
HNY Troy!! This post is a question about makeup tools. I know what are the basic tools, the essentials, one needs to apply makeup. My question is which ones can you recommend that is best to use for more of a daily use? I have these in mind; Sephora, Nars, and MAC. I also want to use the Kabuki brush, can you give more uses for it?
“IF SOMETHING DOESNT WORK OUT FOR YOU IT IS BECAUSE SOMETHING BIGGER IS WAITING FOR YOU”
All the best for 2000DIVINE!
Thanks for all your kind words.
It really means a lot to me to hear your advice and comfort.
This has been a sad holiday for me. I don’t have a family I’m close to. I have my work, great friends, and my four little dogs who are like people. I get a lot of confidence when I hear from so many people from around the world, who appreciate and love my work. Being creative with make up ,art and photography has always saved me in bad times. It’s not just work to me, it’s my air, it’s everything. And I put everything into my work. Now my work will probably reflect what’s going on inside which will be interesting to see what will inspire me with these projects I have coming up.
As for my recent break up, I’m better each day, but It’s strange when there’s someone walking around the planet with a piece of your heart. A piece that’s left quite a hole.. I know the only way to heal it is through my creativity.. I’m working to find my way back to it.. And when I do, you’ll be the first to know..
My best,
Troy
I will do a post on tools and brushes soon.. Keep checking back.
My best
Troy
Sorry to hear about the breakup and the not so best holiday Troy. I always say that the only way to feel better is through time. Wishing the best in 2009!

Troy… You are a great being! You inspire me, seriously. I have been, and am in the “broken heart” situation for a while. There are good days, then some are bad. Be strong, your creativity will help you through it!! Big HUGS!!
